Good question.
Whatever else I'm doing, I plan to use this blog to review every Godzilla film ever made.
Why would I want to do that?
Well, I've watched all of them. And over the years I've spent a lot of time thinking about these movies. Writing is a good way to organize thinking, so in a way I'm simply hoping to refine what I'm already doing.
Additionally, the timing seems somewhat fortuitous as Criterion just announced the release of the entire Showa series on Blu-Ray. I couldn't ask for a better excuse to revisit these gems.
Finally, I'm a Godzilla fan. And what else is a fan to do but discuss, criticize, and celebrate the objects of his fandom?
So I hope to finish my reviews before Godzilla vs Kong comes out in 2020. I plan to evaluate the films based on the monsters, the humans and their overall tone. We'll see how it goes.
